At the Utalii Africa Tourism Expo 2025, a Hosted Buyer is typically an industry professional who meets specific criteria, and they are invited to attend the event under special arrangements to facilitate business networking and deal-making. Hosted Buyers will be offered various incentives.
A Hosted Buyer at UATE 2025 will be pre-qualified by the event organizers and is invited to attend the expo.
a. Role and Decision-Making power
Key Decision-Makers: Hosted Buyers who will qualify should be high-level professionals within their organizations/company who have purchasing power or influence in making decisions related to tourism products and services. This includes:
- Tour Operators (both inbound and outbound)
- Travel Agents (particularly those handling bulk bookings or high-value travel packages)
- Hotel Buyers (representatives from hotel chains, resorts, and lodges)
- Travel Planners (for large corporations or organizations planning group travel or incentive travel)
- Airline and Transport Buyers (decision-makers in airlines, transport companies, and cruise lines)
- DMCs (Destination Management Companies): Those managing tours, accommodations, and activities for international tourists.
b. Company Type and Size
Tourism and Travel Companies: Hosted Buyers should come from the following companies in the tourism sector:
- Inbound and Outbound Tour Operators that specializes in selling the following destinations: Africa, OIC Member States, the Caribbean and South America.
- Travel Agencies that specialize in selling African destinations or offering travel packages to international clients.
- Hotels, Lodges, Resorts looking to expand partnerships or purchase tourism-related services.
- Corporate Buyers involved in organizing business or leisure travel for large organizations.
International or Regional Focus:
- Hosted Buyers usually come from regions outside the host country (Uganda) to expand their networks, find new suppliers, or explore new products and destinations.
- Buyers may come from various regions such as Europe, Asia, North America, South America, the Caribbean, and Middle East, as well as other parts of Africa.
c. Company Type and Size
Demonstrated Purchasing Power: Hosted Buyers are typically expected to have a clear intent to purchase tourism services and products at the event, whether through:
- Partnership agreements with hotels, airlines, or DMCs.
- Contracts for tour packages, activities, and services offered by exhibitors.
- Supplier relationships for creating new tourism offerings or enhancing existing packages.
d. Interest in African Tourism & Investment
Relevant Focus on African Tourism: Given that Utalii Africa Tourism Expo focuses on promoting tourism to and within Africa, Hosted Buyers should have an interest in or already engage in the African tourism market. This could mean:
- Buying or promoting travel packages to African destinations.
- Selling African travel experiences to international customers.
- Establishing connections with African suppliers and service providers for future business opportunities.
a. Complimentary registration
Free entry to the event, including access to exhibitions, seminars, workshops, and networking functions.
b. Travel Support
- Hosted Buyers may receive travel subsidies or full flight coverage (either fully or partially) depending on their qualification.
- Some may receive assistance booking flights, through our partner airlines to offer discounted fares for Hosted Buyers.
c. Accommodation Support
- Hosted Buyers typically will receive complimentary accommodation or discounted rates for the duration of the event. This could include bookings at partner hotels or official event hotels.

d. VIP Networking Opportunities
- Hosted Buyers will be invited to exclusive VIP networking events, including private meetings, B2B matchmaking, cocktail receptions, dinners, and other high-level sessions.
- One-on-one meetings with exhibitors and suppliers tailored to the buyer's interests and needs.
e. Business Matching Programs
- Hosted Buyers are usually pre-registered for a business matchmaking program, where they are paired with relevant exhibitors and suppliers to maximize the potential for collaboration or deal-making.
f. Access to Exclusive Content
- Access to exclusive sessions, industry panels, and content not available to general visitors. These might include presentations by thought leaders and workshops on emerging trends in tourism.
g. FAM (Familiarization) Trips
